Exa
Finding companies and public evidence from a description
Exa provides web search and page content for research workflows. It is useful when the right companies or sources are easier to describe in words than to capture in a standard database filter.
Our research notes
Use Exa to find candidate pages, then check the underlying sources. For example, a search for companies offering a particular service can start an account list, but each match still needs to meet your criteria.
Why choose it
Search, page extraction and cited answers support a connected research process. Dedicated company and people indexes provide another way to discover candidates beyond a keyword-only search.
What to consider
A search result is a lead for further research, not proof of fit or current employment. Broad descriptions can return adjacent businesses, and endpoint choice changes the cost and output.
Pricing
Exa lists a free Starter allowance of $10 in credits each month, plus a $10 onboarding bonus. Paid usage depends on the endpoint. Confirm the rate for search, content or agent work before estimating the cost of a full account list.
